Our Biggest Addiction Is Overthinking

You can find a rehab facility for just about every addiction from alcohol to gambling, but ironically enough, none of them addresses the most debilitating one of all – overthinking. An overactive mind is the main cause behind anxiety, depression, stress and a number of other ailments.

 

From birth, our conditioning was to learn about anything and everything except how to nurture ourselves. We went to school for a variety of different subjects, yet not a single one was about how to control the mind, love ourselves, and cultivate inner peace. Generation after generation following the same lackluster plan of going about things. But, this is why we’re here – to grasp a fuller understanding of what it means to return to purity, or a more natural state of BEing. The cure is presence (or mindfulness as taught by Buddhism). We must recognize that we are not the voice in our head, but the viewer of the stream of thoughts. That distinction is a gateway to tranquility and peace. And best of all, it is attainable ‘NOW’.

Manifestation

Manifestation is the ability of a person being able to create a physical change in his or her existence through the power of focused energy. The source of this energy is the human mind, and the effects have been scientifically proven in the field of Quantum Physics.

Materializing your dreams or destiny then is in your own power. Crops do not spring forth because we need to be fed. Human beings must trade time and physical energy in order for these things to materialize. The same things happen with us on a personal level every day. We wake up, brush our teeth, mouthwash, floss… our mouth do not have a wash and rinse cycle for our teeth. Money does not appear waiting to trade for the next necessity or service. These are all the end results of physical energy focused in the present to produce a desired result in the future.

Energy is our ability to produce change. Thoughts, as created in the mind, are energy. When we concentrate our thoughts, perhaps for a group project – we focus more energy to the task of producing a desired result. So why not produce these results in your own life?

Manifestation is the name given to the process of producing a change in our physical environment through the power of focused mental energy. Manifestation is not accomplished by spending hours in deep mediation, but occurs as a result of retraining our everyday thought processes. The manifested results are not wishful thinking, but scientific fact.

A strong emotion IS THE KEY to manifesting, so you want to be able to feel your most positive emotions most strongly. If you are truly overwhelmed by worry, inhale an exhale in equal breaths, remember a full breath is an inhale and exhale. Take a few easy deep breaths, this is very calming.

Think of the positive outcomes you want and then picture the full details in your minds eye. Imagine being fulfilled, in whatever way, in this moment now, feel how it feels. How would it feel if the physical details were perfect? How would it feel if you knew everything is exactly the way it is perfect for you? Knowing is a very powerful feeling. You just know. No mental arguments start running your mind. You know.

If you cannot imagine a wonderful outcome to something, can you remember one with feelings of joy & excitement? It doesn’t matter where the idea comes from – what matters is that powerful emotions are THE KEY to manifestation.

The 7 Chakra System

Within our bodies there are focal points of energy that we use, whether consciously or unconsciously, to affect reality and allow us to fully experience and realize events that unfold before us. These focal points are called Chakras, a Sanskrit word for wheel. The more developed a chakra is, the more benefits it gives you. Opening chakras are responsible for both psychic and spiritual growth & can be stimulated in order to develop them. There are seven Chakras located throughout the body, each with their own unique attributes and characteristics:

Root Chakra, “Muladhara” – Survival Center – is located directly at the base of the spine, also known as the coccyx. This Chakra is closely related to the body and our ability to master it. It is our connection to the earth, grounding, stability, balance, trust, physical health, nourishment, strength, family, roots, security, survival, prosperity. One’s health, constitution and security are linked to this Chakra. In addition, the realization of how our bodies connect to the material world is focused here.

Sacral Chakra, “Swadhisthana” – Sexuality Center – is located in the lower abdomen. This Chakra is associated with the acts of giving and receiving and is tied into the more physical feelings of love, passion and sexuality, intimacy, desire. Also, fluidity, adaptability, emotions, nurturance, need, guilt. The feeling of pleasure is also linked with this Chakra, so one may feel focus and feedback in this Chakra during moments of harmony, generosity, group creativity and selflessness.

Solar Plexus Chakra, “Manipura” – Power Center – is located just above the navel and below the chest. This Chakra is a focus point for our force of will and our sense of transformation. Concentration and control of our personal energies originate from this point. One’s sense of power and authority, as well as self-control and discipline of the ego converge here. Also, self-esteem confidence, responsibility, reliability, personal power, vitality, will, sense of humor, spontaneity, autonomy, shame. This Chakra can be used to sense the very use of one’s internal energies to affect what is outside the body.

Heart Chakra “Anahata” – Relationship Center – located at the center of the chest and is the focus for love and understanding. Feelings that stem from this Chakra is love, forgiveness, compassion, balance and harmony all radiate from this point. Also, self-acceptance, intimacy, empathy, relationships, devotion & grief. This Chakra also nurtures the rarified feeling of unconditional or divine love, love that goes beyond the physical.

Throat Chakra “Vishuddha” – Communication Center – located in the throats center, near the “Adams Apple”. This Chakra is linked to one’s power of communication. Also, self-expression, speaking, voice, listening, rhythm, truth & honesty. Through this Chakra, one can realize truth and knowledge; honesty, kindness and wisdom and how these elements can be conveyed through thoughtful speech.

Third Eye Chakra “Ajna” – Intution Center – located in the forehead, right above our eyes. This Chakra is related to our perception beyond the physical realm. Intuition, insight, imagination, visualization, memory, synchronicity, psychic gifts, dream recall, illusion and clairvoyance can all be associated with this Chakra. One can also focus their realization of their own soul, divine wisdom and peace of mind in this point.

Crown Chakra “Sahasrara” – Enlightenment Center – located at the very top of the head. As one might guess, this Chakra is associated directly with dealings of the mind and spirit. Also, awareness, consciousness, wisdom, inner joy & peace. This Chakra is deeply tied to the exploration of one’s consciousness and place in space and time. Oneness with the universe, your spirit and will, inspiration, divine wisdom. All the things that deal with the Higher Self are rooted in this Chakra.
